Are you server hugger or code perfectionist CTO?

--

Harsh and controversial but...CTOs who are server huggers and code perfectionists have no role in a fast growing scale up that needs delivery, not perfect code!

If you are CTO in a scale up and you are not obsessed with delivering value to customers, but you focus on the code being perfect, you are in the wrong job!

A scale up desperately needs a business focused CTO who is obsessed about delivery to customers and anything that distracts from that puts the company at risk.

In a scale-up you need someone who is strategic about delivering tech products that the company can sell.

I see too many CTOs who just focus on code quality rather than value to the customer.

If you dislike people management and operations, no problem, hire a VP Engineering.

Am I too harsh?
